Huma Abedin is all smiles for party to honor Anna Wintour
It’s been quite a year for Huma Abedin.
After a failed presidential election campaign, a brush with the FBI and the very public crumbling of her marriage to Anthony Weiner, she’d be forgiven for keeping a low profile.
But as Ms. Abedin stepped out in New York on Monday, for once she had plenty to smile about.
Not only was the outing a glamorous one (to honor Hillary Clinton fan Anna Wintour with a guest-list of fashion darlings), but it came as proceedings in the political staffer’s divorce trudged along.
On May 17, after seeming to ignore his illicit, perverted sexts to an underage girl for months, Ms. Abedin finally filed for divorce from Weiner.

The 41-year-old paired an all white outfit with some silver kitten heels and black sunglasses
Two days later, he pleaded guilty to federal obscenity in a New York City courtroom. He will be sentenced on September 8 and faces up to 27 months in prison for exchanging explicit photographs and messages with a 15-year-old girl from North Carolina.
He will also have to register as a sex offender.
The scandal, which inadvertently led to the FBI’s decision to reopen its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, bore down on Abedin’s role in Clinton’s campaign.
The former candidate still cites it as the disastrous turning point in her otherwise upwards trajectory to the White House.
But Abedin, her most beloved aide, seems to have put it behind her.

She offered only a slight smile as they made their exits, clutching her feathered purse in one hand
Since filing for divorce, she has been hitting the Manhattan social scene relentlessly.
On June 23, she attended the premiere of The Beguiled, posing glamorously on the red carpet with Sophia Coppola.
Earlier in the month, she accompanied her boss to the Urban Zen’s Stephan Weiss Apple Award and days before it she attended the CFDA Fashion Awards.
On Monday night, as she attended the glittering dinner.
Gigi Hadid, Harvey Weinstein, Michael Kors, Lily Collins, Carolina Herrera and Calven Klein were among the other attendees.
As Wintour made her exit in her signature black-out sunglasses, Abedin followed closely behind her.
Weiner, on the other hand, has been seen looking gaunt and frightful as he prepares for his sentencing date and spends time with their son.
The 52-year-old was the Democrat Rep. for New York from 1999 to 2011.
