The Victorian state government will freeze the issuance of all red light and speeding tickets for several weeks following the detection of a malicious software.
The unprecedented move comes after police discovered 55 of its cameras to be infected computer virus on Thursday which later spread to the entire system.
The issuance of such traffic fines is expected to be frozen until government IT experts can resolve the problem.

The decision comes after authorities discovered WannaCry virus in up to 80 fixed cameras.
For now, all cameras would only capture images of a speeding driver with the possibility of issuing fines in the future reports the Daily Telegraph.
On Friday, Victorian police cancelled a total of 590 traffic fines after discovering the cameras used to issue the tickets had been infected with a virus.
Acting Deputy Commissioner Ross Guenther told a media conference that the fines were mainly issued for speed and red light offences from the 55 faulty cameras.
The cameras were believed to have been infected when a maintenance worker who had unknowingly uploaded a ransomware virus onto the network with a USB stick on June 6.
