Dashcam footage has captured the heartstopping a moment a pedestrian distracted by her phone was struck by a four-wheel-drive travelling through a green light.
The woman was filmed earlier this month crossing on Swan Street in Woolooware, in Sydney’s south, after the pedestrian crossing light turned red.
Both her feet were run over as she obliviously walked in front of a four-wheel-drive which was travelling through the intersection.

In the video, the woman can be seen approaching the crossing as the traffic lights are about to turn green.
She begins to walk across the road while wearing headphones and staring down at her phone.
Cars stopped in the first two lanes notice the woman crossing and wait for her to pass before taking off.
But a four-wheel-drive in the third lane is unable to see the woman and approaches the green light at normal speed.

The woman looks the other way before noticing the car and stopping in her tracks, but it’s too late.
Both her feet are run over by the car and she is sent tumbling to the ground.
The accident has led to calls for harsher penalties on pedestrians who don’t pay attention while crossing the road, 7 News reported.
‘Using a handheld mobile device when crossing roads, we want a minimum penalty of $200 and we want council rangers to assist,’ The Pedestrian Council’s Harold Scruby told 7 News.
A total of 182 lives have been lost on New South Wales roads this year, with 24 being pedestrians.
