melbourne man relives moment he was dragged by a ute
A man has relived being hit and dragged 100m by a ute in a shocking accident that nearly claimed his life.
Boss Pomare, 34, was walking to his Melbourne home when he was struck by a vehicle at 2am in March.
The father-of-five was left with two dislocated shoulders, a dislocated elbow, thirteen broken ribs, first degree burns to his back and stomach and had lost parts of his calf muscle and heel.
The 18-year-old driver did not stop after the collision but eventually returned and co-operated with police.
‘I was looking up at the sky thinking ‘Is this me gone? Is this me dead?’ he told the New Zealand Herald.

The ute allegedly crossed the centre line of the Pakenham road as Mr Pomare was returning home.
He says he barely had time to react before he was underneath the car.
‘I remember hearing some winding sound under the car, like the wheels were spinning off the ground.
I can’t remember being dragged but I do remember being spat out of the car.’
Mr Pomare was rushed to hospital and placed in an induced coma after struggling to breathe under his own power.
He had an operation to graft skin across his back after it was severely lacerated.
Despite the horrific injuries that nearly killed him, Mr Pomare says he does not hold ill feelings towards the teenage driver.
‘It was only a young guy, he didn’t know what to do, he was scared. I have no hatred towards anybody.’
